The key is to make it as stress free as possible, because you’ve already been through a closing, moving, and an unpacking marathon. A little socialization and some good food are certainly in order.
Invitation
No need to buy invitations! Simply send your old friends a beautiful evite. Many websites offer lovely housewarming-themed designs. Some are free, while others may be purchased for a nominal amount. As for the neighbors, why not make a postcard from a scanned photo of your new home? Add some clever graphics and have them printed with a border like a postcard. Handwrite the specifics on the back and just drop them in your neighbor’s mailboxes.
Decoration
As for the décor, there are no decorating dilemmas when nature is your tableau. If you’re short on furniture, an outdoor party is the answer. Bring what you have outside, and you can always rent a few extras like folding chairs and a small table. A few coordinated tablecloths, some hurricane vases, flowers and candles will tie it all together.
Food
For the food, either pulled pork or pulled chicken sliders which are so easy when made in a crockpot. Simmer for four hours with a base of sautéed onions, peppers, and garlic and add spices like cayenne, oregano, red pepper flakes or cinnamon. Add spicy coleslaw, and small slider buns and you have an easy main course. For dessert, you can use store bought puff pastry, lightly egg wash and bake. Let guests scoop fruit on top and add whipped cream.

Finally, set the mood with some good tunes. Compile some of your favorite songs, making sure to vary the styles and tempos to set the tone!
